Utility Bills Due, Delinquent, Penalty: Utility Bills are due and payable when the bill is issued. Any unpaid bill after the 15th, of the month at midnight in the drop boxes or 5 p.m. in the Collector’s office shall be delinquent and a penalty of Ten Dollars ($10.00) will be assessed to the delinquent account. When the 15th. falls on a week-end or holiday observed by the City then the first business day following the 15th is used.
Application of Payments: Any payment received on a utility bill shall be applied to the oldest balance due on the account.
Insufficient Funds: In the event that the City of Sullivan receives payment of an account balance with an insufficient funds check, the City Collector shall notify the customer of the insufficient funds check if possible. If the customer cannot be contacted the service will the disconnected until restitution and payment has been made. Any check returned for insufficient funds or closed account to offset being disconnected will be charged a $25.00 check charge and $25.00 reconnect fee. All returned checks for insufficient funds shall be paid with cash only. No check shall be accepted for an insufficient funds check. A maximum of 3 insufficient funds checks per customer will result in accepting cash payments only.
Penalties: Utility bills over $10.00 not paid by the 15th of the month will be assessed a $10.00 penalty. After the 15th, customers are required to pay all but $20.00 of the utility bill (including penalties) by the 25th or they will be subject to disconnect.
Re-connection/Continuation Charges:Customers who pay after the 25th will be subject to a $25.00 continuation/re-connection charge on their next utility bill. If re-connected after 4p.m. on disconnect day the charge for continuation/re-connection will be $50.00
Outstanding Account Balance: Outstanding account balance must be paid before receiving City services. If a person with an outstanding account balance is receiving services under a different account the delinquent balance will be applied to the current account.
Trash, Yard Waste, Recycle Pick-Up: Your trash pick up day is listed below. Yard waste pick up is on WEDNESDAY and recycle pick up is on WEDNESDAY. Bulk items can be picked up by calling 468-4612, Appliances require a $10.00 tag.
